Anna Maria College’s Molly Bish Center was named in memory of Molly Bish, a 16 year-old lifeguard who was abducted on June 27, 2000, from her post at Comins Pond in Warren, Massachusetts. The search for Molly came to a painful end when her remains were found in 2003 in Palmer, Massachusetts, just five miles from her home. Since the loss of their daughter, John and Magi Bish have become advocates for the protection of children and are the driving force behind the Molly Bish Center. “Magi and I can’t change what happened to Molly”, says John, the Center’s first Advisory Board Chairman, “but we can try to stop it from happening again”. At Anna Maria, the desire to help others is at the very foundation of everything we teach. We give students the skills to become nurses, teachers, police officers, firefighters, counselors, social workers, and more. Our students become everyday heroes—both on the frontlines and behind the scenes. |
